  4. Main race date: Saturday 19 September 2026

  5. Start and finish: Amphitheatre by Hotel Element, Lipno nad Vltavou

  6. Course: a loop around the Lipno reservoir, 111 km / ~2,500 m of elevation gain, divided into 10 legs; it passes through the Šumava National Park and Protected Landscape Area and a short section in Austria

  7. Timing and results: IronTime (live results on the website and in the IronTime app)

The organizer reserves the right to change the programme, regulations and rules; changes announced through official channels (website, e-mail, social media, WhatsApp group) are binding.

Categories

Main race (111 km, one loop divided into 10 legs):

  • Small team — 2–3 participants (relay)

  • Large team — 4–5 participants (relay)

  • Solo men

  • Solo women

  • Lipeňák — a special “local” category: a solo runner or a team with at least one member whose residence is within 10 km of the shore of the Lipno reservoir.

Children’s race: miliLi.t.r. — see separate Section 19.

Your age/team category is determined by your status on race day.

Conditions of participation

  1. Age: minimum 15 years. A participant under 18 may take part only with the written consent of a legal guardian (part of the signed declaration). A person under 15 may not take part in the main race, even with a guardian’s consent.

  2. Paid entry fee (see Section 4).

  3. Medical fitness: every runner competes at their own risk and is solely responsible for their own physical preparation and fitness. We recommend holding valid health insurance for the duration of the race.

  4. Signed declaration: when collecting the race pack, each runner submits a printed and signed original declaration (for minors, signed by a legal guardian). No race number can be issued without it. The declaration includes, among other things, acceptance of responsibility for one’s own state of health.

Registration, entry fee, transfer and cancellation

  1. Registration is made solely through the online form on the website.

  2. A registration is valid only once the full entry fee has been credited to the organizer’s account.

  3. A registration left unpaid for 10 calendar days from creation is automatically cancelled.

  4. The entry fee is non-refundable — including in the event of injury or illness before the race.

  5. Transferring a registration to another runner is possible until 31 August 2026 (start of race-number printing). After that date, registrations are non-transferable (this also applies to injury before the race).

  6. For details, see the terms and conditions at lipnotrailrun.cz.

Mandatory and recommended equipment

Mandatory equipment is not a recommendation but a condition of starting. It is checked before the start and randomly during the race; its absence means immediate disqualification. The exact list may be adjusted by the organizer according to the weather forecast and will be updated in the week before the race.

Mandatory equipment — FOR EVERYONE (including team members):

  1. National ID card and health-insurance card

  2. A charged mobile phone with the race director’s number saved and the Záchranka emergency app installed (note: some parts of the course have weak or no signal)

  3. Headlamp + reflective vest or high-visibility reflective elements — required for everyone on the course before 7:00 and after 19:00

  4. Offline Mapy.com maps downloaded for the South Bohemia region (with the paid version, also Upper Austria)

Mandatory equipment — ADDITIONALLY for SOLO:

  1. Running vest / pack

  2. Windbreaker or waterproof jacket

  3. Fully charged headlamp + reflective elements

  4. Personal first-aid kit (emergency blanket, self-adhesive bandage, antiseptic wipes, blister plasters)

  5. At least 1 litre of fluids (1.5 l in extreme weather) + enough nutrition

  6. Power bank

  7. Depending on the weather: gloves and long clothing (cold) / cap (strong sun)

Recommended equipment — for everyone:

  1. Two pairs of shoes (trail shoes with grip + road shoes to change into; a drop bag is provided for SOLO)

  2. Your own collapsible cup or flask — there are no disposable cups at the aid stations

  3. The route loaded on your watch

Recommended equipment — for teams:

  1. On the course: enough of your own food and drink (in a running vest), sleeves, headwear, sunglasses

  2. In the car: a printed itinerary of the course and car parks, spare clothing, a first-aid kit, sunscreen, cash, enough of your own food and drink

Course and marking

  1. Current course and individual legs: lipnotrailrun.cz/trasy. Minor changes may occur — follow the official Li.t.r. 1 WhatsApp group and pay attention to the pre-race briefing.

  2. The course will be fully marked (arrows, “pozor”/caution signs before crossings and hazardous spots). We recommend having the route loaded on your watch or phone.

  3. The organizer will send the final GPX files for the whole course and each leg in the days before the race.

  4. Stay strictly on the marked course. Cutting the course = disqualification.

Aid stations / relay exchanges

On the course and at the finish there are 10 aid stations; every relay exchange is also an aid station and is staffed by volunteers. The exchanges correspond to the start and finish points of the legs.

Stations: Loučovice · Přední Výtoň · Pasečná · Oberhaag (AT) · Schöneben (AT) · Nová Pec · Horní Planá · Černá v Pošumaví · Frymburk · Finish (Lipno nad Vltavou)

Guidelines:

  1. Refreshments at the stations are primarily for runners currently on the course. A support crew may meet their runner at a station and grab a small bite, but the stations are not there to feed the whole team — there must be enough left for everyone through to the last of the field. Support crews can buy specialities directly from local vendors.

  2. There are no disposable cups at the stations — carry your own collapsible cup/flask.

  3. All waste (including gel wrappers) belongs in the bins at the stations. Littering in nature = disqualification.

Team rules (relay)

  1. One vehicle per team. We want to be considerate to local roads. The vehicle must be marked with the sticker from check-in; it may, but need not, be driven by a team member.

  2. Members swap freely at official exchanges; you may run several legs in a row. Every team member must complete at least one leg.

  3. Runners may be swapped only at official exchanges. Swapping outside an exchange is not allowed without the race director’s approval.

  4. The chip is handed over — for teams, the chip is on a belt that members pass between them. The member currently running must have their race number visibly attached.

  5. Splitting the legs and team tactics are entirely up to the team (within the rules above).

Solo rules

  1. Solo runners do not compete in an “unsupported” format — they may use both the aid stations and their own support crew.

  2. Your own support crew is welcome. If the crew travels by car, please support at the more accessible spots on the course so the roads don’t get congested with team cars.

  3. Support is allowed only within the limits of fair play. Riding a bike alongside a runner is considered an unfair advantage over others and is therefore not permitted.

  4. Solo runners get splits after each leg; the chip is stuck to the race number. The race number must be visibly attached throughout the race.

Drop bag (SOLO only):

  1. The organizer transports a pre-prepared bag (shoes, clothing, nutrition) to the halfway point — Schöneben. We recommend preparing softer road shoes there to change into.

  2. Drop-off: Friday 15:00–22:00 (at the congress centre) and Saturday 4:00–5:00 (outside), at the table marked “Dropbag”.

  3. Label the bag with a plastic sack marked with your race number in permanent marker.

  4. The organizer takes no responsibility for the contents; do not include valuables.

  5. After the exchange closes, bags are taken back to the base; pickup at the base Saturday 18:00–23:59.

Time limits and course closure

  1. The time limit = the time from your category’s start until the finish closes at 23:59 on 19 September 2026. At that moment the finish and the course close.

  2. The following cut-off times apply at the exchanges (the closing time of each exchange):

Schöneben 16:30, Nová Pec 18:15, Horní Planá 19:30, Černá v Pošumaví 21:00, Frymburk 23:00, Finish (Lipno nad Vltavou) 23:59

  1. Anyone who misses an exchange’s cut-off is recorded as a DNF (did not finish). Whether they continue outside the race — at their own responsibility — is their decision.

  2. Only if a significant number of runners are set to miss a cut-off does the race director reserve the right to move the cut-off times (including the finish time).

Not finishing and withdrawal (DNF)

  1. If a runner cannot continue (health issues, etc.), they contact the race director (the phone number is printed on every participant’s race number); in case of more serious trouble they call Mountain Rescue or 112 and then contact the race director if possible.

  2. Replacing a team member outside an official exchange is possible only after consulting and obtaining approval from the race director.

  3. Missing a relay cut-off is recorded as a DNF (see Section 10).

  4. Participants are obliged to report their withdrawal from the race. Any costs of a declared search for a participant who knowingly withdrew and failed to report it shall be borne in full by that participant.

Safety

  1. Keep a charged phone with the race director’s number saved and the Záchranka app with you at all times.

  2. The race takes place with roads open to normal traffic, and participants bear full responsibility for complying with applicable laws, above all the Road Traffic Act.

  3. Mutual help takes precedence over time — if someone on the course is in trouble, help them. Fair play is the fundamental principle of the race.

  4. Runners must follow the organizer’s instructions and take care around other runners, organizers and third parties in the race area.

On the course

  1. Headphones: allowed without restriction. For your own safety, stay aware of your surroundings and the organizers’ instructions, especially at road crossings.

  2. Trekking / running poles: allowed.

  3. Dogs: a dog may not help the runner in any way (e.g. by pulling). Running with a dog as a performance aid is not permitted.

  4. Drones: the use of drones is prohibited for participants and spectators alike. This is a condition of the race permit — please respect it without exception.

Transport, parking and road crossings

  1. Teams: one vehicle per team, marked by the organizer (see Section 8).

  2. Parking is coordinated at designated spots near the exchanges (including Přední Výtoň, Pasečná, Frymburk, and the Austrian stations). Follow the booklet/website details and the parking coordinators’ instructions.

  3. Team cars must follow the transfer routes designated by the organizer. Failing to respect these routes may lead to disqualification of the entire team and, at the very least, serious complications on narrow roads.

  4. The course crosses roads at marshalled crossings staffed by trained organizers. At crossings, take extra care and follow the organizers’ instructions and the “pozor”/caution signs.

Results, timing, awards ceremony and prizes

  1. Timing is provided by IronTime; live results are on the website and in the IronTime app. Placings are determined by the official time measured by the organizer.

  2. Solo runners have splits after each leg (chip on the number); teams pass the chip on a belt.

  3. The awards ceremony takes place once the top three in every category have finished (expected around 18:00–19:00). The categories listed in Section 2 are awarded (including the Lipeňák category).

Weather and race changes

  1. The race is held in any weather. The organizer reserves the right to postpone the start, modify the course, interrupt or cancel the race in adverse conditions or other circumstances threatening the safety of participants, organizers or others.

  2. In such a case, participants are not entitled to a refund of the entry fee or any other compensation.

  3. The organizer reserves the right to change the programme, regulations and rules even without prior notice; for current information follow the official Li.t.r. 1 WhatsApp group and pay attention to the pre-race briefing.

Liability, insurance and personal data

  1. Every runner takes part voluntarily and at their own risk and is responsible for their own physical preparation and health; health insurance for the duration of the race is recommended.

  2. The organizer is not liable for injury to health or damage to property arising in connection with participation in the race or spectating it.

  3. Photographs and audiovisual recordings are taken at the event for the race’s promotional purposes. The processing of personal data is governed by the policy published at lipnotrailrun.cz/gdpr (controller: Run Baby Run s.r.o.).

Information for spectators and support crews

  1. Cheer your hearts out — in the right spots along the course. We’ve created cheer zones (“fandící kotle”): selected spots, often near an exchange, that are perfect for proper cheering. Make some noise!

  2. Refreshments at the stations are for runners; support crews can buy specialities from local vendors.

  3. Respect the locals — park in designated places, don’t block roads or private property, and be considerate to the residents of the villages along the course.

  4. The drone ban applies to spectators too — it is a condition of the race permit.

Children’s race — miliLi.t.r.

  1. When and where: Sunday 20 September 2026, morning; start and finish on the small square between Stodola and Hotel Element.

  2. Who for: children up to and including 10 years (born 2016 or later). Category placement is determined by age on race day.

  3. Accompaniment: every child must have a legal guardian present throughout (at least at the base). Only a legal guardian registers the child and, on site, submits the completed and signed declaration and assumes full responsibility.

  4. Registration: online via the website + on-site late entries until the end of that category’s check-in.

  5. Included: a finisher’s award for everyone who finishes; small prizes for the top three in each category.

  6. Categories and distances will be announced based on the number of children registered.

  7. Unless otherwise specified for the children’s race, the main-race rules apply as appropriate; the child runner’s responsibility is understood to be that of their legal guardian.

Nature protection and fair play

We run through a unique and fragile protected landscape (Šumava National Park and Protected Landscape Area), on trails the locals have allowed us to use.

  1. Fair play first — help others in need; safety takes precedence.

  2. Respect for nature — all litter belongs in the bins at the stations, never in nature. Respect the wildlife. Littering = disqualification.

  3. Stay on the marked course — cutting the course = disqualification.

  4. Consideration on the trails — don’t get in each other’s way on narrow sections; the faster runner has priority (just call out “Zleva!” / on your left, “Zprava!” / on your right).

  5. Consideration for locals — we run past people’s homes. Be respectful guests; thank the cheering neighbours with a smile.

  6. The organizer reserves the right to retroactively disqualify a runner or team on the basis of submitted information and evidence.
